Reclaimed Cladding with Brass Fused 52100 blade 205 mm

Reclaimed Cladding with Brass Fused 52100 blade 205 mm

$2,200.00

Another knife created by salvaging the tang/spine of one blade and fusing it to a new piece of 52100. In this case the upper section is taken from a blade that was itself made from reclaimed material condensed from shards of broken knives. Here the long scarf allows me to include a larger section of the reclaimed-clad knife but it also makes it look like a lamination line. Yet the technique is completely different.

I will write I blog post soon with more details about this concept.

This work is experimental. There are likely to be some small pinholes in the soft metals. And yes, they are very soft. They will scratch very easily but I believe that they can be used with care, like you might use a Honyaki.

If you purchase one of these blades and experience something that you were not expecting, please contact me. I am committed to working with each customer to ensure their satisfaction. While a refund is an option (within a reasonable timeframe) I would greatly appreciate if those buying these knives would go into it with a willingness to consider first repair, second replacement and only as a last resort, a full refund.
