This was an experiment in applying the clay a bit differently. I don’t think this is a direction I will explore much more. This blade has banding in the transitional zone and above the habuchi. Unfortunately, there is some clouding below the Habuchi (which also exhibits banding).

It may not be classically excellent but its a rare piece in another sense.

This rarely includes any deep scratches from foundational grinding but mostly consists of buffing chatter and some very superficial scratches from careless handling.
