A 52100 blade is fused to a mild steel upper/tang section with tin-silver alloy.
This was an ambitious piece and I am pleased with how it turned out. I’ve made a few with much shorter joints but this one is unique for having it run the whole length of the blade, much like a lamination line. I hope that it might evoke the impression of a mountain range, without exactly depicting one.
The handle is Madagascar Rosewood with an ebony spacer.
